UIUC Chemical Waste Requirements Training
This online course provides each person with an understanding of the EPA and UIUC requirements for collecting, storing and disposing of chemical wastes. This session is required for all persons who generate, store and request pickups of chemical wastes on campus.

Chemical Management for Laboratories
This two-hour session begins with the OSHA Laboratory Standard which addresses creating a Chemical Hygiene Plan specific for each workplace. It then covers how chemicals can affect you and ways to prevent or reduce potential exposures. Proper storage, waste management and emergency response close the session. This session (or the similar one covering formaldehyde) is recommended for all laboratory workers. This course is also available as a six part online course listed below as Chemical Management for Laboratories (Online).
Live training is available for groups of 10 or more. Please contact the Chemical Safety Section via email to schedule a live training session.

Hazard Communication (Right-To-Know)
OSHA's Hazard Communication Standard (also known as "Right-To-Know") is required for all non-laboratory persons working with chemicals. This session covers how chemicals enter the body, how to protect yourself from the chemicals you use, and how to use Material Safety Data Sheets. It also covers proper management of chemical waste and emergency response information you should know. Annual retraining is required under these regulations.
